News & Resources > Leadership Awards

One of the Foundation’s four grantmaking goals is to recognize and encourage leaders who are working to improve health and wellness in their communities. Our leadership recognition programs are designed to acknowledge exceptional individuals who demonstrate leadership on important health issues.

TCWF California Peace Prize

Honors individuals whose outstanding efforts have helped prevent violent deaths and injuries in communities across California. Many of the leaders recognized by this award have worked countless hours to prevent violence in their communities.

TCWF Champions of Health Professions Diversity Award

Honors individuals for their commitment to increasing diversity in the health professions. Each awardee is a distinguished health professional who has overcome significant barriers.

TCWF Sabbatical Program

Seeks to sustain the effectiveness of nonprofit health organizations. Each year, the program provides financial grants to subsidize well-deserved sabbaticals for nonprofit health executives.

TCWF Public Policy Leadership Award

Recognizes departing legislators who have championed public policies that improve the health of underserved Californians. All honorees have served in both the Assembly and Senate and are completing their legislative service.
