Resources for Opening Community Technology Centers
Computers In Our Future (CIOF) grantees of TCWF’s previous Work and Health Initiative have prepared toolkits for communities interested in
opening community technology centers (CTCs). Resources in the toolkits include a sustainability checklist, curriculum resources and tips on including a job development component in a CTC. Visit

Little Hoover Commission Urges Action on Violence Prevention
California’s Little Hoover Commission released a report in June that makes specific recommendations to policymakers on violence prevention. The report, titled
“Never Too Early, Never Too Late To Prevent Youth Crime & Violence,” includes information from the Choices for Youth public information campaign funded by a grant from TCWF to i.e. communications. The report may be downloaded free of charge by visiting

Receive Promotions
Hailing Ma joined TCWF in January 1994 as the senior financial analyst. In July 2001, she was
promoted to assistant treasurer. In that capacity, she works closely with the Foundation’s banks, investment managers and financial consultants. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ma—a seasoned financial analyst—worked for Acer, Inc., and Micom Corporation, both in Southern California. She holds an M.B.A. from Washington State University.
Amy Scop joined TCWF in August 1998 as a grants administration assistant. In August 2001, she was promoted to senior grants administration assistant and will continue to assist in the review and log-in of letters of interest (LOIs) from grantseekers and maintenance of the grants database. Prior to joining the Foundation, she provided fundraising and grant-reporting support to Social Advocates for Youth in San Jose. Scop holds a B.A. from San Jose State University in social work and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in public administration at California State University, Northridge.

director of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, an affinity group
